Design and Execution
I was asked to design the 2025 Retreat logo for the organization, Collaberex, a professional and business growth community. Through carefully managed meetings, Collaberex members learn from and support one another by sharing experiences and engaging in genuine conversations, to ultimately build authentic and trusting relationships with one another. The goal of the retreat is to feel community, belonging, joy, happiness, gratitude, and kindness.
I was given free-range to design the retreat identity. I started the process by looking carefully at the organization’s logo, a representation of spokes in a wheel. Each spoke represents the organization’s members, unique individuals interdependent with each other.
It hit me that when I turned the logo around clockwise, 90 degrees, that it looked like a tree. Since the retreat will be taking place in the Poconos I thought it would be fitting to use the image as a tree. Then I went a step further, to interlock the spokes of the logo, or as I now saw them, branches of the tree, with other trees to represent the concept of interconnectedness with nature, and with one another.
